College/Post-College FAQs
Q: What is Orayta’s College & Post-College Program (CPC)?
A: CPC is an immersive yeshiva program designed for young adults seeking serious Torah study in an open-minded and supportive environment. It offers a holistic curriculum and a vibrant community rooted in Orayta’s values and vision.
Q: Is CPC for me?
A: CPC is ideal for college and post-college students (roughly ages 20–25) who haven’t had a post-high school yeshiva experience. Whether you attended Jewish day school, grew up in a traditional community, or are just beginning to explore your Judaism, we’d love to welcome you to our beit midrash.
Q: What is the length of the program?
A: You can join for a full year (September 2026–June 2027) or for a single semester: Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
Q: What subjects are taught in the curriculum?
A: Our curriculum includes Gemara, halakha, Jewish philosophy (machshava), Chassidut, Tanakh, tefillah, and mussar (personal growth), among others. See full schedule here.
Q: What are the program accommodations?
A: Orayta is located in Jerusalem. Our new beit midrash for day-to-day learning is located by the City Hall light rail station, just a few minutes from the Old City's Jaffa Gate. Our 'Old City Beit Midrash' — used for special tefillot, Thursday night mishmar, and more — is in the Old City's Jewish Quarter, complete with a rooftop view of Har HaBayit, Mount of Olives, and the Judean Desert.
CPC students will live in apartments in the Baka/Katemon area, giving them the opportunity to become a part of the English-speaking communities in the area.
Breakfast and lunch are included with tuition. Students can opt into yeshiva dinner for an additional fee.
Q: What kind of support is available?
A: Our staff prioritizes relationships. In addition to connecting with teachers inside and outside the classroom, students have access to a social worker for mental health support and a mashgiach ruchani (spiritual advisor) for personal and religious guidance.
Q: Is there other programming beyond the daily schedule?
A: CPC includes trips around Israel that allow students to bond and explore the land together in meaningful ways. Many of these trips will be separate from the rest of the yeshiva.
In addition, CPC students join select yeshiva “IN” Shabbatot (with meals and davening provided) and will participate in CPC-only Shabbat experiences, as well. During “OUT” Shabbatot, when dorms close for post-high school students, CPC students are welcome to remain in their apartments. Yamim Noraim are typically spent together with yeshiva — a one of a kind experience, not to be missed!
Q: Is there vacation?
A: Yes. CPC follows Orayta’s break schedule:
- After Yom Kippur until Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan
- A few days during Chanukah
- A longer break for Pesach
(Exact dates available upon request.)
Q: What are the admissions requirements?
A: We’re looking for motivated students ready to grow in Torah and Jewish life. No prior yeshiva experience is required, and we welcome a wide range of backgrounds. Traditional halakhic commitment is expected from participants in the Yeshiva.
Q: How do I apply?
A: Submit an application online here. After you apply, we’ll schedule a conversation to learn more about your goals and see if CPC is a good fit.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Spots are limited; early applications are encouraged.
Q: How much does the program cost?
A: Tuition is $6,000 per semester. This includes learning, programming, housing, breakfast, and lunch.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: Yes. We offer need-based scholarships and flexible payment plans. Our goal is to make CPC accessible to every student who wants to be here.
